Key Responsibilities:
Operate a 50-ton crane to lift, move, and place materials and equipment at designated locations.
Maneuver the crane’s boom, hoist, and other parts to safely execute lifting tasks.
Inspect the crane before use to ensure proper functioning and safety.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and regulations related to crane operation, including OSHA standards and local regulations.
Conduct regular safety checks on the crane and ensure it is in safe working condition.
Ensure proper rigging techniques are applied when securing loads to prevent accidents or damage.
Load Management:
Calculate load weights and ensure the crane is not overloaded, always operating within the crane’s 50-ton capacity.
Coordinate with ground personnel to ensure proper load placement and movement.
Monitor weather and site conditions to ensure safe crane operation, including wind speed and ground stability.
Communication:
Communicate with signalers or ground crew to ensure clear and accurate instructions during crane operations.
Report any mechanical issues, malfunctions, or safety hazards to supervisors.
Routine Maintenance:
Perform daily maintenance checks on the crane, including inspecting the hydraulic systems, brakes, boom, and cables.
Ensure proper lubrication and functioning of all crane components to maintain performance and reduce downtime.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of crane usage, maintenance, and inspections.
Complete reports on any incidents, equipment malfunctions, or safety issues.
Site Coordination:
Work in coordination with construction supervisors and other operators to ensure crane operations do not disrupt ongoing work or pose a risk to other personnel.
Follow site-specific instructions for crane positioning and load handling.
